Roster Update

Hello Sportsfans!

As you are aware the draft has come and gone. Leaving the Los Pistolitas to lead "Team 4" next season is our favorite lil' robot Tron, Ghetto-fabulous Ghetto Rose, and the lovely and talented Jessy Jynx.

We'll be missing these cholas (until we meet on the flat track that is) -time to tatty a new tear.

But with the draft we've had the honour of adding two new members to our roster!

Joining us will be the ever so talented, face smashing, anthem singing, Trailer Trish. She's been taking the season to ref and get the Jr. Roller Derby going. Now she's ready to join us on the flat track as we smash some derby butt.

Lucky for us, we've got one hell of a rookie coming on; Carla. In order to get her chola name, Carla will have to pass through a very painful initiation. Any ideas of what we should call our newest lil gangsta?

Farewell Cholas and Cholos!

Since our league has been growing so much over the past year, the team captains got together and created a fourth team of volunteers from the current teams and new draftees. Although it's very exciting and means excellent things for the future is E-Ville, it is also a sad time as it means this is my last blog post as a Los Pistolita. I have been an LP since the beginning and love all of the girls and being a chola, but I also am excited about the idea of starting a new team from scratch and bonding with a new group of girls. This is also an opportunity for the girls left to step up to the leadership role left vacant by me!

Thank you to all of our fans, I hope you will cheer for our new team next season (when you're not cheering for the LP's of course!)

New Website, Photos

Hey Sports Fans!

If you haven't seen it yet, the league launched a brand new website last week. Live edits are still being made at this point. Check out the LP page to see some of the pics taken by Urethra Franklin with our bios.

Also, just because the regular season isn't finished you can still see some of your favourite cholas on the track. There are a handful of us representing with the E-Ville Dead against Victoria's Eves Of Destruction on June 5th.

Saturday Night was Derby Night

HOLA! What a game!!!

Just in case you missed it, the E-Ville championship game was played this weekend at Coronation arena....

Sadly, the Los Pistolitas did not win, as the Slice Girls took it 104-99 claiming the Gage Cup. There was a lot of action in the game with some huge hits and monster jams.

So while we may not be number one in the League, the Los Pistolitas will be the number one team in a lot of hearts. Altho we lost the championship game on Saturday, we truly are the best team in E-Ville with the best fans. We could hear the cheers from the stands down on the track.

Thanks to all the wanna-be cholos and cholas for coming out all season long to cheer on the LP's. It was a wicked season filled with some kick-ass derby action.......We love our fans!!!

Less than a week..

Until the big day!! We have been working hard getting ready to take on the Slice Girls for the Gage Cup. The girls have been busy with tons of off-skates training, and we had an extra practice last night to fine tune some skills and strategy.

When Jynx was kicked out of the Spellman family for using her powers for E-Ville, she found the sport of Roller Derby to replace them. Watch your skates laces ladies, they may "accidently" become untied.

Three For All Results

Wow!! What an amazing, intense set of games. A humbling experience for the LP's ending our season long winning streak.
Our game against the Slice Girls was a constant battle back and forth until with only a few minutes left in the game our jammer was in the box and Cheeky Slice score a fantastic 9 point jam. The final score was 52-42 for the Slice Girls.
Then the Slice Girls took the Black Gold Diggers 56-36, dominating Saturday's round robin.
We were off to a shaky start against the Diggers, then closed the 30 point gap they had on us in the last half of the game, which is no easy feat when the game itself is only 30 minutes! In the end the Diggers had us by two points.

A few of us will be playing with the E-Ville Dead against GTAR Rollergirls on May 1st. The next (and last time this season) you can get your chola fix is May 15th GAGE CUP championship game against the Slice Girls. If Saturday was a taste of what the championship game will be like it can not be missed!

There will still be derby happening for a couple of months after the championship. The Dead will be playing Victoria's Eves of Destruction in June and Seattle's Rat City Rollergirls in July.

Three For All, April 17th

Here is the poster for our next bout, Three For All! It features the lovely Cheeky, Tuf Luv and our very own Sadie Slasher! This game will be a round-robin style event. Each team will play the other 2 teams in a 30 minute bout each, just like we did in September! This is the last chance to check us out before the Gage Cup in May when we will battle the Slice Girls for the title of 2010 champs!

Will we remain undefeated this season? Will the BlackGold Diggers pull up their fishnets and take a win? Will the Slice Girls stay on their winning streak since beating the Diggers in March?

6-Pack Results!

In case you were not one of the 750+ fans at the Sportsdome on Saturday, you would probably love to hear that not only did the Los Pistolitas smash the Cut-throat Car Hops, the Slice Girls killed the Thrashin' Lassies and the BlackGold Diggers destroyed the B-52 Bellas! That's right sports fans, it was an E-VILLE SWEEP. We could not have hoped for a more positive turn out for the team and league.

The night itself was a roaring success. Many thanks to all the teams from CRDA and all of the visiting refs and volunteers.

How to do Your Make-Up Like a Chola

For all you die hard Pistolita fans out there, why not join us and dress like a Chola for our next game. Here is a how to on how to do your make-up like a Chola.

1. Start with the foundation. Because a steady one has never existed in her life, this part is easy. Apply a base ready to handle any bumps in the road that may occur in the future, such as: welts from slaps in the face in the form of stereotyping before she even has a chance to grow up. A good foundation can conceal any hardships you’re bound to endure in the future.

2. Apply the blush. Brush it on in a manner maximizing the sharpness of the cheekbones highlighting the refinement of the face: exotic, brilliant, like ancestral Mayan carvings. Avoid using too much, as this will give people the wrong impression: Clown. Slut.

3. Use the pencil to shape your eyebrows, thin and arched. This will create an exaggerated look of bewilderment which may come in handy should you ever decide to visit the most upscale department store in the mall. You can actually look the part rather than just play dumb, when the saleswomen follow you around as if you stole some sparkly earrings say, and shoved them into your purse (also presumed stolen). The scarce hairs (mostly drawn on) will also serve as a barrier to people looking you in the eyes, easing any guilt you may have for sins committed that would cause your mother eternal grief if she knew about.

4. Put on the eyeshadow base before the eyeshadow so the shadow will set better. Use a shimmery silver to compliment the golden crucifix hiding deep in the cleavage peering out from the fitted white tank top. Then blend in the eyeshadow on your crease to create depth. Otherwise you’ll be seen as shallow, incapable of accomplishing anything meaningful in life (Having children while being a teenager doesn’t count as an accomplishment.).

5. Guide the eyeliner across the fringes of the upper lid slowly advancing all the way around the eye. Repeat the process. The thicker the better. Don’t neglect the corners—where the liner should harshly extend pointing away from the pupils as if accusing the ears of betraying the rest of the face.

6. Curl the lashes. Perfecting the art of eye-batting is vital because you’ll need to use your sexuality like a lasso, roping potential suitors (most likely cholos) who will show everyone how much they love you by giving you an assortment of hickies on your neck like a raunchy connect the dots, and in turn get your name tatted in cursive on his neck forever displaying the bond you share. Because why waste money on a ring of any sort when nothing says I love you Heina more than a neck tattoo.

7. The mascara should coat the lashes like an oversized Pendleton. Drape it on as if protecting the eyes from any sort of illumination that forces the chola to examine her current lifestyle. She doesn’t need to be reminded being a mother is more than making sure Jr. has the freshest baby shoes. That dropping out of high school maybe wasn’t the best move. Or that picking and choosing your battles will give you and your loved ones a longer life span. Because in this mi vida loca world of barrios and bandanas, it’s all about respect, and every day is a battle.

8. Finally, trace the lips with lip liner. Lipstick isn’t needed. It would only rub off from your kiss my ass FTW attitude. But the liner will still be there. The last trace of any hope you’ll have at making the proverbial something, out of yourself.

Haven't seen your favourite team on the track for a while? We're back at the end of the month, March 27th! E-Ville's three houseteams will be playing three teams from CRDA in Calgary! This triple header starts at 6pm, with a demo from our very own junior league beforehand.
So will we be playing Calgary's Thrashin' Lassies, Cut throat  Car-hops or the B-52 Bellas? We don't find out until minutes before the whistle blows, so come early to make sure you don't miss us!

There will also be a vendors village in the rink next to the game, so bring extra cash for a stunning new LP t-shirt or whatever else meets your fancy.

Next month E-Ville's three house teams are playing a round robin, to get ready for the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!! Your favorite chola's will be taking on the Slice Girls for the Gage Cup!

Ya'll Know Me! LP!

The sweetest thing on a pair of skates. Don't mistake that sweetness for weakness, though; with a bat of her eyelashes and a wiggle of her hips she'll pass you on the track.

Likes: Whiskers on kittens, rainbows, bunnies, and black eyes

Dislikes: Lizards, dog bites, eggplant, and broken shoelaces.

Killer Skates

Nancy Killagain gained considerable fame beyond the derby world when, in 1994, she was hit in the knee with a tire iron during a behind the scenes rumble at the World Figure Skating Championships. It was part of a planned assault on her by rival skaters, jealous of her ability to kick butt and take names. Ms. Killagain is killing again, this time on the derby track where she’s traded in blades for sharp shoulders.

Stay tuned to hear more about this girl's taste for revenge! She promises you won't be sorry (or maybe you'll will be, very, very sorry)

The Ghoul Next Door

Bella Morte is what happens when good Reapers go Derby. Although she traded in soul taking for butt kicking on the track, she still finds the sound of the final death rattle music to her ears. Don’t be fooled by her sweet smile as her deepest desire is to steal your soul.
